What is the booking deadline for after school sessions?

Subject to availability, DFJ Multisports can take bookings until 3 days before a session.

All children should be booked in, with their place confirmed before attending the session.

Can my child attend without booking in advance?

If your child /arrives for ae session without a prior booking, he/she may be turned away depending on availability of places for that day. If we are able to include your child, you will need to complete a registration form to comply with health and safety requirements.  On the day registrations will incur a £1 administration fee.

Yes, you can. However, to obtain a refund we require written notice 10 days’ prior to a session. All cancellation refunds are subject to a £2 administration charge.

Can I change my session booking once it is made?

Yes, but only by giving us 3 days’ written notice to info@dfj-multisports.com.  It may be possible for you to swap sessions within the same week provided the session has spaces. If you would like to use this option, please let us know in your email.

Do I have to book a whole month or term in one go?

Not at all. Our booking system is designed to be flexible. You can book as few or as many sessions as you like.  However, bookings are always dependent on availability of space, so booking a block of sessions offers more chance of continuity for your child.

Do you offer discounts?

Yes!  We offer a 10% Sibling Discount

Book your first child and receive a 10% discount for each additional child you book. Please note that this does not apply to friend or relative bookings.

Which group should I book my child on to?

Groups are generally organised according to age (5-8, 9-10, 11-12). It is at the discretion of the DFJ Multisports team to include children outside a group’s specified age-range.

My child is going to be absent or I need to cancel a session, what should I do?

It is important that you let us know if your child will be absent as we need to ensure all children are accounted for and safe at the beginning of the session. Notice of absence must communicated to DFJ Multisports through written communication. Please inform us by filling  out a Child Absence Form. An email or text can also be sent.

My child is in Reception can he/she attend sessions?

Yes, we can accept children in Reception, as long as they are aged 5 and over.

My child is in Year 7/8 does that mean he/she cannot attend sessions?

We’re happy to accept children in school years 7 & 8 if they are 11 or 12 years old.

Will I get a refund if my child misses a session?

Once paid for, sessions are non-refundable except in exceptional circumstances.  For more information, see our Refund Policy (insert link)

COVID-19

How will the sessions work with COVID-19 restrictions?

You can read all the FAQs surrounding COVID-19 and the way that DFJ Multisports will operate during this period by looking at our COVID-19 Policy.

SESSIONS

What sort of activities will be on offer?

We provide a range of sports for children to enjoy and experience. Monday sessions offer a set sport in 5-7 week term-time blocks. Tuesday sessions offer different sports and games each week. Click the link to see the sports that we offer.

Does my child need to bring anything with them?

A bottle of water and any medication needed as stated on your booking registration form. Please ensure any items brought to a session are clearly labelled. Please ensure children do not bring any valuable toys or belongings with them as DFJ Multisports cannot be held responsible if they go missing.

What if my child requires medication whilst at the session?

DFJ Multisports staff will only administer prescribed medication.  Please ensure you have filled out a Permission to Administer Medicine Form and hand any medication required to the Head Coach. Alternatively DFJ Multisports can email this form to you prior to your child attending or you can ask for one from the member of staff signing children in. Full details of how to administer and quantities must be detailed on the labelled bottle. Please ensure all medication is clearly labelled and in date.

What qualifications do staff have?

We take great pride in training our staff so our high standards are met. All Managers & Senior Staff have a teaching qualification. Some staff have undertaken basic first aid and safeguarding/child protection training. Youth Coaches will be working with or supervised by fully qualified coaches at all times. You can find out more about our coaches and their qualifications on our Meet the Team page.

What’s the collection process at the end of sessions?

Children are accompanied to the agreed meeting point. A member of staff will stand with the children whilst waiting for collection. When a designated collection person has been seen, the child will be signed out and allowed to go to the appropriate collection person.  We take this process very seriously to ensure safety of all children.  No child will be allowed to leave with any person other than the person detailed on the registration form as the primary collection person unless we have received a completed Child Collection Form.

What if someone else is going to pick up my child?

You will need to submit a Child Collection Form if anyone other than the child's primary collection person is going to be picking them up. This form must be submitted each and every time.

Who can collect/pick up my child?

We have clear collection procedures.  With prior written notification, anyone over the age of 16 who knows your password and has ID is able to collect your child. You must submit a Child Collection Form if someone other than the primary collection person will be picking up your child. Without this information, we will not release your child and we will call you to get your permission. The child will stay in our care until we receive consent. The Child Collection Form can be found on the Forms and Policies page.

Do parents have to stay throughout the session?

No. Parents can pick their children up at the end of the session, safe in the knowledge that their child is having fun, being active and most importantly in a safe environment with our qualified and vetted coaches.

What happens if you are unable to deliver the club outside?

If we are unable to deliver a planned outdoor session we would use a back-up indoor space. We may have to alter our delivery activity. We would only cancel a session if it was absolutely necessary.

What if my child needs the toilet during a session?

Staff will escort children to the toilets inside the venue. These will be regularly cleaned by staff.

Will staff be able to help tie shoe laces?

Yes, as this is less than 15 minutes of close interaction, staff will be able to help to tie shoe laces. We will ask children to face away while the coach ties up their laces for them.
